THE OCEAN FROM SPACE

Remote sensing of the oceans from space has revolutionized our understanding of our blue planet. Here we present views of the oceans through the eye of three sensors, the first examining the visible color of the oceans, the second using a radar to map sea level height, and the third using using infrared emissions to estimate the sea surface temperature. Processing and access to this data is another research area made possible by rapid developments in computers and networks. For further information about these data we refer you to (1) and (2).
