SODA is a multi-institutional collaborative project. The core production group, listed at left, are at University of Maryland and Texas A&M University. However, SODA relies extensively on community data sets and software. We are particularly beholden to the following institutions and people: the National Centers for Environmental Prediction/NOAA for providing surface winds and AVHRR SST, the World Ocean Data Center/NOAA (Syd Levitus and John Antonov) for providing much of our hydrography, the Goddard Space Flight Center/NASA, JPL, and AVISO (Chet Koblinsky among others) for providing altimetry, and the Los Alamos National Laboratory/DOE (Julie McClean/NPS) for providing recent releases of the POP ocean model and for help with configurations. |
